A DREAM of his mother telling him to speak the truth prompted a teenager to spill the beans on his stepmother.
The half-brother of abuse victim Syakir Abd Aziz had dreamt of his late mother while being detained in the police lock-up in Ampang Jaya.
The teenager’s mother died when he was seven. His father then married Salina Abdul Shukor, who is charged with murdering Syakir.
He said: “I was detained for 14 days. In the first three days, my stepmother visited me and reminded me of my promise not to implicate her in the case. The same night, I dreamt of my own mother".
When asked by DPP Salim Soib about his feelings after being detained, the witness said he was sad.
“I was sad because I did not do anything wrong but was detained.”
He said the following morning, he spilt the beans to the investigating officer.
“I told the officer what had actually happened on April 4, 2004. I told him everything,” he said.
The teenager was released three days later and was sent to a skills development centre in Serendah where he learnt welding.
“The investigating officer told me that I could not return as my house had been torn down.”
After two months, he was sent to a boys’ school in Malacca where he remained for two years.
The teenager was testifying in the trial of Salina who is charged with murdering her three-year-old son Syakir.
She was alleged to have committed the offence between 5.30pm on April 4 and 5pm on April 7, 2004, at their home in Kampung Pinggir, Lembah Jaya Selatan in Ampang Jaya.
The teenager said his mother was very fierce and hot tempered.
The court was also told that the young victim was afraid of his mother who would hit him each time he defecated.
“Instead, Syakir will tell me if I was there. He would say ‘Long, yak-yak’. If he vomits, he would keep it in his mouth as he was scared of mother.“Syakir would only spit it out when she went away,” he said, adding that he would then clean up Syakir.
The teenager also said that in April 2004, Syakir was limping because his legs were broken.
“How do you know that his legs were broken?” asked Salim.
“Because mother hit Syakir’s legs. I’ve seen mother hitting him in the leg. It was sometime before April 4,” he answered.He also said he had never asked Syakir about it and that he (Syakir) would cry if the teenager touched his legs.
Another witness, Nor Afifah Bahran, 20, said she had followed her friend, who was also Syakir’s adopted sister, to visit him on April 7.
She said: “My friend told me that Syakir was sick and she wanted to take him to the clinic. However, when we arrived at the house, Salina refused to let us in.“When my friend tried to bring Syakir out of the house, Salina blocked the door with her hands. She said to just leave him to die to make her life easier.”
Salina was represented by Hazlan Abd Hamid and Iszam Kamal Ismail.Trial before judge Datuk Zaharah Ibrahim continues today.

sue, thats y i am glad i have fenriz at this age of mine. so that i can react rationally upon his behaviour. most important, I AM READY to be a mother.

Entah si salina tu..meroyan rasanya..tapi ada baiknya syakir tu meninggal..kalau tak,maybe boleh jadi gila sebab tekanan mental.Mcm satu kes kat my town ni.Ada sorang budak tu dulunya ok n sihat walafiat sehinggala mak dia meninggal.Bapak dia kawin lain.Budak tu didera oleh ibu tiri dia smpai jadi gila.Sekarang ni merayau2 kat kampung..kdg2 kacau org jugak.Kesian sbb bukan salah dia...
what the? and org kg buat apa? senyap jer tgk budak tu kena dera?
